A fuser unit melts the toner on to the paper once the image has been transferred. Fuser units run very hot and do deteriorate so need to be replaced occassionally. Fuser units can also be damaged by paper jams, staples and other foreign items going through the machine, or power surges. Fusers sold on this site are usually user replaceable.
